Hello! I made this star costume for Blue Creature this week, it's a really easy one. Since he's a finger puppet, you could use the bottom opening to put him on the top of your Christmas tree!
You will need:
- Blue Creature. How to make one: http://holloughby.blogspot.com/2011/11/sewing-tuesday-blue-creature-finger.html
- Yellow felt.
- Thread to match the felt.
- A needle.
- Some pins.
- A pencil.
- Scissors.
Step 1.
Draw a flat bottomed star around your Creature on the yellow felt like mine below. Mark where the ears will stick through the costume with little pencil marks. Cut the star out.
Draw around the star on more yellow felt and cut it out so you have two. Draw a face hole on one of the stars and cut the middle out.
Check the face hole is in the right place.
Pin the two stars together with the pencil lines on the inside. Sew around the star using over stitch following the picture and instructions below.
- Sew between 1 and 2.
- Leave between 2 and 3 open for the Creature's ear.
- Sew between 3 and 4.
- Leave between 4 and 5 open for the Creature's ear.
- Sew between 5 and 6.
